Week 8 injury update: Christian McCaffrey status questionable

• Christian McCaffrey listed as questionable with a calf issue.
• Projected for 20.6 PPR fantasy points in week 8.
• San Francisco will evaluate his availability close to game time.

What happened

The week 8 injury report places San Francisco backfield in the spotlight. Christian McCaffrey is officially listed as questionable due to a calf issue. While the team has not ruled him out, his participation in practice sessions throughout the week will determine whether he can handle his usual workload without facing significant limitations on game day.

Fantasy impact

In PPR leagues, Christian McCaffrey remains a top tier fantasy option projected for 20.6 points, but his injury status introduces real risk. Fantasy managers must secure insurance options or have a reliable flex substitute ready on their bench before the upcoming slate of matches kicks off this weekend.

What changes for the team

San Francisco offense undergoes notable adjustments if their elite running back is limited. A reduction in McCaffrey touches shifts target distribution toward secondary pass catchers and forces the coaching staff to rely more heavily on backfield rotations.

What to do: Check final inactive lists on Sunday morning before locking Christian McCaffrey into your starting lineup.
