Russell Wilson interviews for NC State coaching job

Former Seahawks quarterback interviewed for NC State head coaching role.
Wilson could quickly depart his current analyst role at CBS.
Any speculation of an NFL playing return is officially over.

What happened

Former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has officially interviewed for the head coaching position at NC State. After stepping away from the NFL gridiron and working as a studio analyst on the CBS desk, Wilson could make a swift exit from broadcasting. Moving into college coaching marks a completely fresh direction for his football career, confirming his days under center in professional football are firmly behind him.

Fantasy impact

Any fantasy managers holding onto Wilson in deep dynasty formats or Superflex stashes hoping for a miraculous midseason NFL comeback can finally cut ties. Wilson is focused on pursuing coaching opportunities and will not take another snap or generate fantasy production. Free up that roster spot immediately and use the bench space to speculate on available waiver wire depth or promising young prospects with active roles.

What changes for the team

This interview confirms Seattle and any other quarterback-needy NFL franchises are not viable landing spots for Wilson. The Seahawks are fully committed to their current roster trajectory, leaving Wilson's era firmly in the history books while he prepares to build a college coaching resume.

What to do: Drop him across all deep dynasty formats to free up valuable bench space.
