Javon Kinlaw out for season after surgery

• Javon Kinlaw undergoes knee surgery
• Washington loses second defensive lineman
• Major blow to Commanders front line

What happened

Washington defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw underwent season-ending knee surgery, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter. This marks the second starting defensive lineman lost by the team in less than 1 week, severely weakening the interior of their defensive front for the rest of the 2026 season.

Fantasy impact

Directly hurts the Commanders D/ST fantasy value, making them unstartable in most leagues. Conversely, it creates favorable matchup opportunities for opposing running backs facing Washington, boosting their projected rushing totals and touchdown upside each week in all formats.

What changes for the team

Severely compromises Washington's defensive line depth. Losing 2 key starters in 1 week gives opposing offensive lines a major physical advantage.

What to do: Avoid starting Washington D/ST and fire up opposing RBs.
